Events

Polo events, from Palermo to St. Moritz.

Polo's big tournaments follow the seasons around the world. These pages cover the main events as they run now, with recent results by year, the records people argue about, and how to watch.

Most of the polo that makes the news is played in a handful of places: Buenos Aires in the southern spring, England and continental Europe in the northern summer, and Wellington, Florida, in the northern winter. The same top professionals move between them, so a player who wins in Florida in April can be winning again in England in July and in Argentina in December. The polo season page explains that calendar.

Where things stand in October 2026

As of 20 October 2026, the northern summer is over and the Argentine Triple Crown is under way.

  • Hurlingham Open 2026 (finished). La Natividad La Dolfina beat La Hache 18-14 in the final on 4 October 2026, a day later than planned because rain was forecast, according to Prensa Polo.
  • Tortugas Open 2026 (in progress). The 86th edition opened on 6 October 2026 and has no winner yet. The April calendar put its final on 7 to 8 November 2026, though that schedule was set before the rain delays.
  • Argentine Open 2026 (not started). The 133rd edition, at Palermo, is scheduled for November to December 2026, with the April calendar giving 10 November to a final on 12 to 13 December.

Every result on these pages carries its year. Where a tournament is still being played, we say so and do not name a winner.

Two things to keep in mind

Sources disagree more than you might expect. Leg order in the Triple Crown, Adolfo Cambiaso's tally of Palermo titles, the edition number of the Women's Argentine Open, and the host of the next FIP World Championship all vary by source. We give each version and say who reports it.

Handicaps are set by each country. A player can be 10 goals in one country and 9 in another, so we never merge ratings across governing bodies. For how the goal scale works, see handicaps.
